An experienced Sacramento attorney, John S. Poulos holds a juris doctor from the University of California, Berkeley, and a bachelor of arts in economics from Claremont McKenna College. From 1997 to 2012, he served as a partner with the law firm of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. John S. Poulos became managing partner of the firm’s Sacramento office in 2009 and earned recognition as a Northern California Super Lawyer in 2005, 2011, and 2012.
Since 2013, Mr. Poulos has been part of the litigation practice group of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard and Smith, LLP, which provides legal services to clients in industries ranging from aviation to wine production, with more than 40 areas of concentration including ADA compliance and defense, data privacy and cybersecurity, banking and finance, real estate and land use, international trade, and other areas. In his work with the firm, he specializes in commercial litigation, handling complex business and financial disputes with a client-centered, results-oriented approach.
In addition to his work in the legal field, Mr. Poulos gives to his community through civic service. For several years, he served as a trustee of the Davis Joint Unified School District in California.
